RecyClass – Recycling Process Certificate

A voluntary European audit-based certification recognizing the recyclability of plastic recycling processes (both pre- and post-consumer) operated at a facility. It ensures traceability of regranulates and alignment with standards such as EN 15343 and ISO 22095, and is accepted for plastic-tax exemptions in certain jurisdictions

Global Recycled Standard (GRS) Certificate

Global Recycled Standard (GRS) sets the criteria for the third-party certification of recycled materials and chain of custody. The GRS includes a 50% minimum recycled content percentage and additional social and environmental requirements related to processing and chemical use.

REACH Certificate (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals)

This EU regulation ensures chemical substances used—especially in packaging—are registered and evaluated for safety. A “certificate” usually reflects compliance rather than a standalone document.

BRCGS Packaging & Packaging Materials Certificate

The BRCGS Global Standard Packaging Materials helps a site or operation to demonstrate they are providing products that are quality assured, legally compliant, and authentic. It's GFSI-recognized and focuses on quality, safety, legality, and operational standards for packaging used in food, toiletries, cosmetics, etc.

EFSA (European Food Safety Authority)

EFSA assesses safety of recycling processes and materials (especially plastics) intended for food contact. It reviews dossiers, issues scientific opinions, and ensures safety compliance with EU legislation

 

FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration)

FDA oversees the safety of food contact substances—including packaging materials—through notifications or petitions. While “approval” isn't granted for most packaging, “compliance” or “no objection” status based on safety data is required
